The Workshop on Supporting Diversity in Systems Research (Diversity 2015) is a forum to support traditionally underrepresented students in systems research. It provides minority and female students at the graduate or advanced undergraduate level with valuable opportunities for mentorship and networking. However, the workshop is open to everyone. We encourage all students within the systems research community to attend.
The program will include invited technical talks from diverse members of the systems research community, student presentations, a poster competition, and career-oriented panel discussions. The overall goal of the workshop is to strengthen the pipeline of systems students, providing them with advice and networking opportunities that they might not otherwise receive.
This year, Diversity’15 will include a Student Poster Competition and a PhD Research Work-In-Progress Symposium. All members of the systems community are invited to apply. Application to either participation format involves a 2-page abstract of the poster/research presentation. .
Diversity'15 will be held on October 4, 2015 in Monterey, CA, co-located with SOSP 2015.
