Program Highlights:
Keynote Talk: "The Manageability Wall in the Exascale Era: Challenges and Opportunities", Partha Ranganathan, HP Labs
The 2nd Workshop on Managed
Multi-Core Systems (MMCS'09) will
be held in
conjunction with the 14th International Conference on Architectural Support for Programming Languages and Operating Systems (ASPLOS'09), in Washington, DC.
MMCS will address challenges of resource allocation and management, including
power, in homogeneous and heterogeneous many-core systems.
This one day workshop will include two invited lectures, 2 sessions of technical papers and a panel discussion.
Topics of interest include:
-
hypervisor structuring for many-core platforms
-
power management for many-core systems
-
support for heterogeneous core resources
-
resource management in large scale many-core systems (synchronization,
scheduling, caching, etc)
-
deployment of specialized cores as accelerators
-
specialized execution domains (e.g. I/O, accelerators)
-
operating system support for many-core platforms
-
driver applications and benchmarks
